Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Our Saratoga Swim Lessons

Q: What makes Saratoga Star Aquatic unique?
A: The world class coaching team (Lin Li and Abi Liu) have developed an efficient learn to swim system. After years of teaching and researching, we have created specific drills for water safety, skill learning, and stroke enhancing…etc. All of our instructors are certified in First Aid and CPR training. All of our instructors went through the intense training by Lin Li and Abi Liu.

Its indoor swimming facility has the building area of 12,500 Sq.Ft. situated on over one acre of land. The facility has two swimming pools and one comprehensive exercise studio. It is the largest indoor swimming facility in the South Bay, which ensures climate- free year-round consistent programs and service to best serve the community

Q: What is the difference between a shorter class and longer class?
A: We feel that the young kids have limited attention span, with the shorter class time, and constant class flow, our instructors will be able to maximize the mental strength. If the class duration is too long, not only the process of the learning might slow down, but also because of the physical fatigue, the students might learn incorrect stroke patterns. The students who are in the higher level classes, however, need a longer class time to practice and perfecting their skills, therefore, we offer extended classes.

Q: How do I know which level to sign up my child?
A: Please come and attend one of our new/returning student evaluation times so your child is placed in the correct level.

Q: My child can perform all the skills listed in level Purple, but, he/she does not want to join the team, what are my options?
A: 1). Your child can join our Pre-Competitive program. Our pre-comp lessons are twice-a-week on set days, and one hour for each class.
2). Your child can sign up for two separate bookings of group lessons in the Purple level. This option provides parents with flexibility, but not the guarantee of the same instructor for both classes.
3). Your child can sign up for semi-private or private lessons, and the instructor can teach more advanced drills and skills according to your child’s needs.

Q: My child wants to swim regularly, i.e. two or three times a week, but he/she does not want to join the swim team, is there a class for my child?
A: Yes, when our indoor facility opens in the fall 2010, we will have recreational classes offered two or three times a week. Please check our web site for more details.

Q: How do I cancel my class?
A: To cancel your class, please submit your request to our Online Cancellation.
